The 2 teams in the NBA Finals are the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. Before we begin, some history of the two teams. First, the Mavericks. They've made it to the playoffs 24 times. They were born in 1980, the 18th NBA franchise to join the League, and they have won the NBA Finals one time.
Now the Celtics. They have won a total of 17 championship games. Founded in Boston in 1946 by Walter Brown, the Celtics hold the NBA record for the most Most Valuable Player Awards with 10, which have been given to Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, Dave Cowens, and Larry Bird. Here with the star players. The Celtics have Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown. And for the Mavericks, Luka Dončić, Kyrie Irving, and Dante Exum.
Now for the recap. In game one, Luka had the most points from any Mavericks in the game scoring 30, but all the other players on the team didn’t even have half of that. The Celtics got 37 points in the first quarter compared to the Mavs 20, and they never gave up the lead. they won game 1, 107-89. In game 2, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Jaylen Brown combined got 83 points, and even though Luka had another great game (scoring 32 points), it wasn’t enough and the Celtics won 98-105. Now for game 3, Kyrie Erving and Dončić combined for 62 points! Sadly, the rest of the team only combined for 37, and the Mavericks lost once more, losing 105-99. At halftime, the Mavs were winning 51-50, but going into the 4th, they were losing 85-70.
So the next game is Friday night, and the Celtics might just sweep the Mavs, but hopefully not, because that’s not that fun. (Unless you're a Celtics fan) I hope you enjoyed this review. I know that some players got injured in the finals, so hopefully they get a speedy recovery.
